Gegrapha believes that journalism is still a valid career choice for those who feel called to serve God through skillful writing and perceptive reporting and truth telling. Even though journalism as a field is going through massive changes, we believe people will always want to be informed. Indeed, our democracy requires an informed citizenry.

Being a Christian and being a journalist is not an easy path but we believe there is a need in journalism for seasoned professionals with Christian values who can report the facts truthfully, with ethics and integrity.

We recommend students seeking a career in journalism:

Take advantage of available teaching and mentoring resources such as the World Journalism Institute and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities Washington Journalism Center.
Network with other Christian journalism students and teachers at conferences such as the College Media Advisers and the Baptist Press Collegiate Student Journalism Conference.
Learn more about reporting from a Christian perspective by becoming familiar with the online resources of the GetReligion blog and Oxford Centre for Religion and Public Life's Media Project.
Seek out other journalism students to meet and together explore these resources and the challenges of being a Christian in journalism. InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's Professional Schools Ministry provides resources for student groups in various disciplines, including journalism.
